Phone Upgrade Services

For availing phone upgrade services of EE check your eligibility first. You can check your eligibility by logging into the registered account with EE or by sending a text message “UP” to 150. In case you have not paid any debt related to your phone plan you cannot upgrade your phone as eligibility criteria are not satisfied. If you have less than 45 days to go until the renewal date of the contract, you have the option to upgrade. You can avail early upgrade service even if eligibility criteria of a free upgrade is not available.

The following allow you to upgrade:

  • SIM-only customers with 12, 18 or 24-month plan or any customer with any monthly plan.
  • Contract period is more than 6 months and more than 45 days are left before the renewal date of the contract.

EE SIM CARD (FRONT + REVERSE)

More than 60 days pending before the renewal date of a contract opens the option to buy a new SIM card to switch to a 4GEE plan.

Getting this service your phone must be 4G compatible. The fee charged after switching shall not be less than the existing contract monthly fee. The EE upgrade contact number is 150 or 07973 100 150.

EE Cancellation

If you wish to cancel the EE contract within 14 days you need to inform EE within 14 days of applying for this service. You can make a call from any other phone or even using any of the EE phone numbers mentioned above to cancel the contract:

Unlocking EE Phones

EE provides unlocking device services for their customers. You are required to make a call to 150.

A fee of 8.99£ (including VAT) shall be charged for unlocking a device. The time period taken by EE services for the unlocking device is 10 days. Let’s say you don’t have the device code, which you need to unlock the phone, remember it can take up to 10 days. EE customer service may contact your manufacturer first to get the device code.

You will be informed through text message.
Unlocking the device service can be availed immediately by the customers who are “Pay as you go” or “SIM only”. For other customers who are on Pay monthly, need a six months contract period to be eligible.
For unlocking requests of Apple & Samsung phones, a link will be sent by EE services mentioning unlocking instructions. If the number provided to EE which is attached with the device is not in use, a message will be sent to an alternative number.

Billing

You can make a call to the phone automated service of EE for making payments. The EE contact number to pay a bill is 0800 028 0543. You will not be charged any fee for making the call through a landline; Call charges may vary from mobile.

You are required to follow the instructions and provide any necessary details required to make a payment. You keep track of your bill and its due dates by visiting the EE Contact Us Accounts page.

Change My Number?

If you are switching from T-Mobile or Orange network you are just required to insert your new sim card into your phone. However if you are currently on another network and you want to transfer to EE service network with the same number, follow certain steps:

  1. Call current mobile service provider and get PAC code (valid for 30 days)
  2. Get an active sim card
  3. A temporary number will be provided to you
  4. Fill out the form

If a request for transfer is submitted before 5:30 PM on a working day, then the EE transfer number time will be next day provided it is working. If the request is made on the weekend then the EE transfer number time will be two working days.

The procedure you will go through after transferring the number is simple. You need to contact the insurance provider and get your number updated. Update the number in My EE app. Follow the instructions in this link:

    I am a customer with EE for the past 15 years.
    I had an longstanding issue with EE Insurance Team about a claim on my lost mobile.They did not handle my complaint efficiently, and the behaviour towards me was unsatisfactory.instead of resolving my complaint, the assessment team of EE insurance gave negative reply,by which I am unhappy with the way they dealt with my claim.
    I would like to get in touch with EE with regards to the issue of my claim .

Over 10 days ago I went into ee shop yeovil Somerset to put my t mobile pay as you go over to ee monthly contract after 6 calls to ee I’m still without any phone service my T-Mobile number…Please help me asap my home number is… Customer support told me yesterday to put my new Blank sims card in and leave it switched on which I have done.

  3. Good afternoon Sir/Madam,

    I have been with T-Mobile /EE now for many years. I have had my last iPhone well out of contract that was due to finish on 13.4.14 So as you can see I’m not an upgrade grabber

    My phone has got difficult to use so I went to the shop in Leeds white rose centre who informed I should go online to perform the task of upgrading. I did this and found my number not known and the process overly difficult.

    So I rang the 150 upgrade number and that just referred me to online.

    My girlfriend looked at car phone warehouse to upgrade and it has to be said they were far more helpful.

    Giving EE another chance I have just rang to cancel and spoke with your colleague who attempted to keep me but couldn’t match the offer from car phone warehouse and seemed quite willing to let a valued customer for many years leave.

    Just thought you should know that the service I have received is very poor especially as the difference was only £29.99 upfront fee.

  4. Been.on hold now for over an hour one busy complaints department?
    When i do get through they keep promising that my issue will be resolved been in a various number of promised days its been.months now and still not resolved? For once ee contact me thats what customer service should be and not to ignore me as a customer

  5. EE are… Took out a contract and they took too much money from my account. The salesman clearly lied in the phone. I cancelled and returned the phone without using it. They continued to take money from my account. I eventually sorted it after lots of time on the phone to them.
    2 years later I have a court summons! No warning letters or bills. Trying to sort it now.

  6. When I changed my network,I was recommended to join EE.The network is not compatible in parts of my area.I had 4 bar reception in a spot I was in this morning but a txt message still took 2 hrs to come through and a phone call made to me at 11.20 came through as a missed call 2 hrs later.

  7. I have been charged for ” you must have touched the subscribe to Prize Hook whilst on your phone ” that I have never had the slightest hint of. Not until my bank statements. they simply sneak the money from under your nose without you ever knowing. I am furious as I have confidential records on my phone and EE allow these fraudsters a way in to their customers. ..?? Let’s see what EE do when they face a legal case in court for compromising NHS material that had been asked to be blocked by myself six months ago.

  9. EE i no longer have access to my old number because my phone was damaged and the number on that sim is locked to my online accounts so i can no longer access my accounts and the sim will not work in any other phone i have, what can you do to help me.

  10. I am not an EE customer. On the 12th September I found an iphone in the road adjacent to my house, in order to find the owner I searched online for ways to find the owner, I was advised that the best way was to contact the carrier and give them the IMEI number so I contacted EE and spoke to a representative who whilst pleasant enough was quite curt, after a brief chat I was put on hold for nearly 13 minutes, I was advised that packaging would be delivered to my house and that I would be required to take the phone inside this packaging to a post office, all the time I was being spoken very curtly. I had to ask three times what should happen if I managed to contact the owner in the mean time and was informed that it would be okay to arrange drop off with the owner, the next day one of the owners friends texted the iphone, I sent a text from my phone and we arranged for the phone to be picked up. Later that week I received a generic letter with the packaging telling me that I needed to send the phone within a 5 day period to avoid a fee. I ignored this letter.
    I was trying to help one of EE customers I feel that this whole process could have been handled a lot better.

  11. ee was supposed to ring me Wednesday haven’t heard anything they suppose to be listening to a recording after a sales man rang me saying I got a special offer on your account because I’ve been with orange and know ee for 18 years always paid my bill on time the salesman said I can had another phone on my contract for 34.99 for two phones I said ok we agreed a day after another salesman rang saying he made a mistake and they wanted 34.99 plus my phone contract which is about 36 pound I said he didn’t say that so I rang the EE compliant service and asked for the recording the salesman wasted 30 minutes of my time with all lies and no one has rang me back I can’t believe EE treated a loyal customer

  13. Hi,
    I live in Portwrinkle Cornall(PL11 3DB) for a month now have had no signal indoors or outdoors.

    Have tried to get it sorted with EE but 4 times now have been told there is a problem in the PL11 3DB area our engineers are working on it but is taking longer than expected( this of course is really helpfull) engineers have not arrived from India i presume.
    We have never had a really good signal, but at least would could use our mobiles.
