  1. I tried to return a parcel on the 8/6/2016 via Royal Mail. This was one of two parcels, one received and credited me for its return but Royal Mail seem to holding on to the second parcel and not forwarding it to John Lewis. I am finding it frustrating as I am unable to get in touch with anyone to explain to me why!! I think it is hard, the service appalling especially since I clearly returned it in good faith expecting a safe delivery to John Lewis and refund for the two items!!
    What can I do?

  2. The customer service team at JL are the most bunch I’ve ever come across having ask to speak to a manager I was told it would take 48 hrs what sort of service is that. That’s a first for me looks like the company’s going not forwards oh dear JL need to up your game.

    I am a student at Sheffield Hallam University, studying International Events Management with Tourism. As part of our degree, a group of us are hosting a charity event for Roundabout. The event is a Mardi Gras Carnival Evening, on the 25th February 6pm-9pm, at Crystal Bar Sheffield. The event will have two Sheffield samba bands, caribbean street food, a Roundabout charity speaker, Photo Booth, Mardi Gras cocktails and a raffle.   4. I’ve read a lot of comments about the poor customer service provided by John Lewis regarding complaints. I’d have to agree now. I was promised a small but (what would have been) appreciated compensation as the result of a complaint that I raised. This promised compensation has never materialised and now all further contact I’ve attempted on-line or by email is now going unanswered. I’ve spent quite a bit of cash with John Lewis in the last few years but this is really changing my view of them and their previous reputation as a quality retailer. Seems they’re going downhill like some other now less popular brand shave done over the years, which is a shame.

  6. On October 30th I received an email stating that a cooker I wanted to buy ( a JLFSMC613 dual fuel cooker) was back in stock, having requested an email alert. I tried to buy it online, but website would not allow me to complete the purchase. The next day I attempted to make the purchase by phone, but was told there was a problem and someone would be in touch shortly. Nobody called me back. The following day I called again and managed to place the order. I was told that somebody would be in touch regarding a delivery date. Nobody called me back. This went on for several days – not once was I called back. Anyone I managed to speak to just said there was ‘a problem’ of an unspecified nature, or else couldn’t find the order. Eventually I spoke to someone who said that they would ‘action it’. They did manage to call me back, only to tell me that I couldn’t possibly have ordered the cooker as there were none in the country and would not be until the end of November. I protested strongly about this, and somehow John Lewis found that the model I had ordered was available after all. I requested a priority delivery date (by this time we had been left without a cooker for over two weeks). I was told it would be delivered in two days time. The next problem was that the installation service I had requested would not be available. I was told that this was because we live a little more than 30 miles from our nearest branch. They might like to know that nowhere on the website is this clearly stated – certainly not on any of the order and delivery pages I visited. Needless to say we could not get a gas fitter at such short notice, and indeed are still waiting.
    The delivery did take place – at 7.15 am on a Saturday morning (November 17th). I had been told that the team would remove and dispose of all packaging. I was away that morning, and my wife had to receive the delivery. The men involved had no intention of unpacking the cooker. When my wife asked them to do so, they complained that it had ‘sharp edges and small parts’. They then proceeded to unpack the cooker on the drive outside the house (they managed to pick up most, though not all, of the packaging before they left). They then brought it into the kitchen and left it in the middle of the floor – my wife had stop them leaving it there and to ask them to move it into position.
    This is an astonishingly inadequate and incompetent performance by that company, which prides itself on its customer service.
